I get that the payment processors are forcing this, but the fact you kept it quiet, then went beyond just NSFW to ban anything with LGBTQ tags shows you arent just being forced to comply with visa, you are using this as an excuse to purge the platform of queer content. Fuck the itch leadership.

Don't remember if it was 2018 or 2019 exactly, but steam started to shadow ban, unlist and remove a bunch of visual novels they deemed "too sexual". A bunch of indie developers got affected by that, meanwhile triple a games with explicit sex stayed unaffected. They reverted it after some backlash

so itchio has shadowbanned any games tagged with 'nsfw', 'adult', or 'erotic' so they don't show up in searches, and several devs have reported that their r18 games have been removed from the site with no warning
