Nope, all basements I grew up with were converted into wood shops by/for my dad.

What are your favorite comfort watches that donβt suck for women?
I want a little RPG reading time today for morale. Trouble is that reading a game is fun but also gets my brain hungry to play a game. And that requires scheduling.
This is fascinating to see for you and to do my own! Thank you!
Iβm sorry friend. I am sure you enjoy the sartorial pleasures of hats, but thatβs not a solution.
There are lots of folks more qualified to answer this question, but I think book bans, the erosion of rights for LGBTQIA folks, shenanigans by financial processing companies & an extremely small number of big publishers can make it astonishingly quick for support to vanish.
I love romance novels, so I get some publisher newsletters about upcoming titles. Seeing queer books just vanish from these in the past 6 months is so enraging/depressing. We know queer books can sell; please publish and promote them!
It is a wise soul indeed who is not tricked by the cat belly trap.
I will have to look that up! Itβs a decidedly intriguing title!
A woman with Long Covid won almost one million dollars in a lawsuit against her employer who refused to allow her work from home accommodations.
May this set a precedent.
Remote work should be accessible to all who need it.
Itβs a game changer for people with disabilities.
Same could be said for music
I strongly suspect the effective demonetization of musical labor has driven men from music for the same reason it does every sector
Best space RPG ever.
What I learned most emphatically last time was, βIf I mention a horse or stable in passing, this now a game 100% about horses.β π
Iβm wondering if something in the Carved from Brindlewood or Belonging Outside Belonging areas could work for young high energy chaotic players. We could try Goblin Errands. Thereβs always a Honey Heist variant that would excite everyone.
I just volunteered to run 3 indie TTRPG one-shots for tweens and teens at our local public library. I so enjoyed running Magical Kitties, Perils & Princesses, and Kids on Bikes last year, but I kinda wanna branch out this time.
Good thing to remember online right now is that everyone here is very emotionally dysregulated and dealing with that by posting
Dang.
Headcanon: in βBorn To Runβ when Bruce sings βI wanna die with you Wendy on the streets tonight in an everlasting kiss,β heβs singing to Wendy Carlos.
I want desperately to stop the SAVE act, get law enforcement to do something with the findings in the Epstein files (resigning to be rich & horrible in a less prominent way is not adequate), and abolish ICE. And yet, even after phone calls & donations Iβm 1000 miles from power on these things.
I watched the new βWuthering Heights,β and folks who say it isnβt about anything are not very good at film interpretation. Itβs uncomfortably tumbling around in my brain with a few other recent films that I could seeing writing a little something about.
When things are hard, hereβs what I can do:
Get up again
Love people as best I can
Weather the storm
A dresser inside a museum in New York City has been discovered as a secret stop on the Underground Railroad β the first of its kind discovered in Manhattan in over 100 years
Communities in OK, MS, VA, and MN have stopped warehouse sales to ICE.
You can, too:
β
Go to city council meetings & SPEAK UP during open comment
β
Call your state delegates β local + state pressure is our best bet. The Fed Gov wonβt save us.

Just saw a new "book" allegedly chronicling the history of goth and deathrock by one mister "Nick Razer." Heads up: it is AI slop, as are all his books, many of which are super sus.
His press quotes from @thequietus.com and NME are fake. Don't fall prey this this edgelord stupidity.
This book is dedicated to the fond memory of the late _______. She was an ideal wife to a man totally dedicated to research. This left her husband all the time and leisure to pursue his research. In spite of being just a matriculate, she understood the value of her husband's work; even though financially it was not rewarding, she encouraged him in his labor of love. It is her understanding of the man that has let this book be a reality.
I was looking at an academic book by some random dude. It seemed interesting, until I got to the dedication, and... oh no.
Much less a 1970s floral one. :(
When we talk about authoritarianism, itβs not just Donald Trump.
Musk owns X
Bezos owns Twitch
Zuckerberg owns Instagram and Facebook
Larry Ellison controls TikTok
Billionaires increasingly control what we see, hear and read.
Iβm not going to engage with that.
I am indulging in a moment of imagination. What would it feel like to not experience the itchy background static of misogyny? How much more energy for everything else would we have if that drain wasnβt constant?
