It's not a perfect game (although it is very, very good) but it nails what people claim they want in a remake: updating the original for a modern audience while preserving its essence. Sadly it fails to deliver what peope actually want in a remake, i.e., a generic AAA action game with the same name
Yakuza Kiwami 3 is a perfect remake:
*Emphasizes all the themes of the original (responsibility, parenthood, ambition vs leadership) while improving pacing & presentation
*Preserves its more strategic combat but expands it and explains it better
*The same people hate it for all the same reasons

Tonight I completed the first ever DANCE PAD SPEEDRUN of SEKIRO with a final time of 1:06:47! This was a Shura glitchless route and only my second full attempt so I know I can improve the time even further ♡

I was so ready to hate this game too! Primed for it! I just can't understand gamers man
Of course this could all change, but the complaint I've heard about combat so far is that enemies are blocking too much which - come on man. People are still unwilling to adjust to a new kind of combat in any game not made by FromSoft. Proving once again there was zero point in this remake
Admittedly I'm only a few hours in but I am shocked at how far removed my experience with Yakuza Kiwami 3 seems to be from everyone else. The combat so far feels incredible and the side content I've seen has all been great. I legitimately do not get why everyone is so down on this game

Obviously reviews should be taken with a grain of salt but it's funny how Yakuza Kiwami 3 has already failed at its mission of making Y3 more palatable to the mainstream. The dumbest chuds on YouTube have spent years whining about it and RGG debasing itself has once again won over exactly 0% of them
