FWIW: Finland raised the VAT on books from 10 to 14% this year, so yes, 13.5 is a small step in the right direction but not enough to repair the damage inflicted.
A lot of talk about 'migrant problems' on the right these days. So it's worth repeating over and over that the real problems to be solved are those that force humans to become migrants in the first place: war, persecution, corruption, famine, poverty, environmental destruction etc.

I can’t judge whether a lasting peace requires two separate nations or not, but I am convinced that both Israelis and Palestinians deserve leaders who as a starting point are committed to the equal rights of ALL living in Israel and Palestine.
The destructive path chosen by Hamas and others like them can never achieve this, and neither can Netanyahu's regime with their ethno-nationalist delusions. A lasting peace simply isn’t possible for either side without recognising the equal needs and rights of the other.
It is often emphasized how immensely complex the Israel-Palestine conflict is. I do not doubt this. But beneath all the complexity lies one very simple, fundamental premise: both Israelis and Palestinians have a right to live in freedom, peace and dignity, like all humans on this Earth.
