Here's a lovely photo of Miles. He's a green forest spirit with a red face, twinkly yellow eyes, and an open mouth face with two sharp teeth. He has green antennas with red veins. There are some embroidered red flowers on his ectoplasmic skin. There's yellow fur in the background, and he's standing on a lovely galaxy print fabric.
Here's a lovely photo of the back of Miles. His back is red, and there's a single embroidered green flower in the middle.
Here's another lovely photo where I'm holding Miles on my palm
Meet Miles Gloom-Wilder the Woodland Spirit. I designed and hand-sewed and hand-embroidered him. Miles is the eldest brother, and he puts a lot of pressure on himself, as he's been tasked by the universe to protect the woodland where all his family lives.

I might not be going back to fairy gardens. I might be starting a container water garden. Because water.
In case anybody was here for my plant updates, just thought I'd let y'all know.

LEGO version of Van Gogh's "Starry Night" in progress. It almost looks finished until you realize the tree is still missing.
Close up of the LEGO moon in "Starry Night".
Not finished yet, but I am at the point where I'm scared I'll break something every time I add a piece.
Spending the day with plants and LEGOs was good for me.

A very tiny - three or four inches tall - lantana in a small pot. There's a branch at the top growing another two or three inches, with bigger leaves, that will be taken as a cutting to start a new plant.
Spring weather isn't quite here yet, but it's probably safe to say my lantana survived her first winter with me. She's over a year old now!
I'm still working with her as bonsai, but letting that top part grow a while so I can take it as a cutting to start a new plant.

When power goes out, everybody around me gets antsy, doesn't know what to do, and starts saying they wish they had charged phones and laptops.
I have plenty of things to do. Because I don't live on the Internet all the time.
Being dependant on AI would magnify "there's nothing to do".

A bright green fresh frond on a parlour palm. Individual leaves are still curled inward, but the whole frond is opening and the leaves will spread out soon.
That palm frond I said would open soon?
It's opening!

No? Okay, good.

If you canβt think for yourself you canβt rebel. If you become reliant on an external brain to think for you, you will soon need it desperately. If you do not find art important, no art can move you to action. A docile, listless, addicted population is the dream of an authoritarian.

Trope map for Bear My Heart - a cozy sapphic novella. Ebook cover in green with the outline of a bear in the middle with mountains and a moon within the body.
Text: "spice level: handholding (barely), neurodivergent MC's, a magical mountain, overcoming grief, sapphic romance, a bear-shifter, hermit-vibes deep in the forest, nose-booping, old dying gods.

βI like the quiet, because it isnβt truly silent. Her breath disturbs the air. The faint shift of fabric when sheβs readjusting herself in the bed. All these quiet ripples of stillness.
They soothe me.β

overlooking a series of circular water filled tanks of a sewage treatment plant at night.
lights line a long brick building on the horizon as a blue-black sky is stark behind a veil of thin puffy clouds in the distance.
good night, sewers.
good night, streams.
good night, operations and maintenance teams.
good night, settling tanks.
good night, stream banks.
good night, engineers, scientists, crews, managers, inspectors, analysts too.
a good night for us means serving with care.
good night, sewers, everywhere.

The Cow Who Sang to the Stars
In a meadow brushed with moonlight,
where the silver grasses sway,
Lived Rosemary the gentle cow,
who sang away the day.
Her voice was warm as summer rain,
soft as a lullaby,
And when she sang, the fireflies rose
like sparks into the sky.
Sheβd hum to wake the daisies,
sheβd croon to calm the breeze,
Her melodies could coax shy birds
from high and distant trees.
The other cows would gather round, enchanted by her tune,
As magic rippled through the fields beneath the glowing moon.
One night she sang so sweetly that the stars began to chime,
Their twinkling lights responding
with a rhythm danced through time.
The moon leaned low to listen,
the night itself stood still,
For Rosemaryβs soft serenade
could bend it to her will.
And though she looked like any cow
with gentle eyes of brown,
Her songs could lift the heaviest hearts
and turn all grief around.
So if you hear a distant hum while wandering afar,
It might be Rosemary singing still:
the cow who charmed the stars.
@sonnetsmith.bsky.social I'm sorry to do this to your prompt π
@daveashleypoet.bsky.social you asked for a magical singing cow

Anybody remember when fairy gardens were the DIY trend? I'm kind of considering building one again.
Some family members who didn't know me well discouraged me because they kept buying things for mine. Even when I told them I liked making stuff.

Iβd love to know why Grammarly didnβt think this was going to happen. Like what team of clearly overpaid lawyers okayed this idea in the first place?
βYes, using and profiting from the direct likeness of people who have the time, money, clout and lawyers to obliterate you is 100% in the clear.β

Here's a lovely photo of a plethora of hand-sewn fabric art creatures. There's a watermelon creature with a red face, eight black seed-like eyes, and a wide mouth with five sharp teeth. There's a white ghost trinket bag covered with purple embroidered flowers. She has a gray face, sparkly black eyes and a little frown. There's a strawberry creature with three bulbous green eyes. There's a watermelon ghost, and a black creature with sharp teeth wearing a bulbous eye earring. There's a large purple creature with many yellow eyes and an open mouth, with a little green creature popping her head out. All the creatures are sitting on green fur and there's a galaxy print fabric in the background.
Hey Bluesky! Could you help me spread the word about my Patreon? Signing up will allow me create more fabric art monsters and creatures.
As a patron, you'll receive positive affirmations from Felmer, etiquette advice from Mothman, and other fun, bizarre posts.
