The simplest argument is that old bad joke, lightly adjusted:
“Would you take away rights from 0.8% of the population?”
“I guess.”
“Okay, how about 75% of the population?”
“75%? What kind of person do you think I am?”

this is exactly the correct answer to "who do we be mad at when two groups' rights' are in conflict", the answer is "whoever tf is putting them in conflict", which in this case is "the assholes at the BBC"

I think the key thing to grasp is that although the British are obsessed with class hierarchy, the signifiers and criteria are in fact pretty arbitrary, not in the sense that such things are always arbitrary, but that there’s no real agreement on them and a lot of it’s vibes.

It’s not being picked up how they would like in private business so they’re pushing it in education. Instead of investing in people and communities they’re choosing tech companies. It makes me so angry.
This is only going to exacerbate existing issues and inequalities.
