The Michael Jordan of Going to the Hospital
The Michael Jordan of Going to the Hospital
Literally straight out of the authoritarian playbook.
Pete Hegseth is openly calling on Trump-friendly oligarchs to take over the media while unshackling the military from the "rules of engagement" he hates so much. What he really wants is a world in which horrors like the school bombing don't ever fully come to light.

Iβve been thinking about this for days.
You know, not for nothing, but the exposure for the scientists would also be good.
This is absolutely bonkers and infuriating.
Must-read reporting by ProPublica.
i need the βllms are might be consciousβ folx to read this
This is, to put it mildly, a double standard. This guy was part of a government that encouraged online social media figures to engage in routine harassment of government employees to the point that many were fired or went into hiding. Some of it was done by Elon Musk, this guy's boss.
NIH Director Jay Bhattacharyaβs legacy of disgrace.
a Volvo xc 40 with the bumper sticker "I bought this before Elon killed himself"
June and I had an idea for a bumper sticker and now it exists in real life

Let there be as much outrage from politicians in Washington when kids go hungry as there is when I break bread with New Yorkers.
I need a new Magneto Was Right shirt, but I would also wear βMewtwo Was Rightβ as well as a βDitto Was Rightβ
i have a "magneto was right" t-shirt because of course i do (actually i own two of them), but i also need a "mewtwo was right" t-shirt and... it doesn't look like that exists??? what the hell????
This is just the latest example I've seen, but it is really bleak how much political content on social media these days is being sponsored by dark money interest groups and how many content creators have been willing to take the cash and keep quiet about it.
I donβt think we have to accept the catastrophic pronouncements of AI boosters
Like does the screenshotted person really - I mean really - know whatβs involved in a PhD?
Remember when it was revealed that some TikTok influencers were being paid to push Democratic Party talking points and keep their payment a secret? I wonder if Chorus has any ties to the newest op www.wired.com/story/dark-m...
For some perspective... Singapore's primary airport handles roughly the same amount of traffic as LAX and suddenly fuel prices are 3x what they were a week ago. You cannot scale at that cost.
Americans face high gas prices. The rest of the world is going to face shortages and shutdowns.
Well worth your time to read my genius colleague @matteowong.bsky.social and his deeply reported piece on how data centers are remaking the physical world
"This War Will Destabilize The Entire Mideast Region And Set Off A Global Shockwave Of Anti-Americanism" vs. "{tiny dancer plays distantly in the background} Wow. I didn't know that. You're just telling me now for the first time"
I'm hoping everyone who was excited Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey used the F-word against ICE can read this piece, because he just vetoed an ordinance that would have paused evictions, after the passed city council. Important reporting by Amie Stager.
You can always tell by his face when he's meeting with some asshole and wants you to know that he knows he's meeting with some asshole.
"The worse an officerβs academic record, the more likely he was to join the secret police. Once inside, the worst performers were assigned to the most brutal departments, where the work was most repugnant and the career reward for doing it most valuable." donmoynihan.substack.com/p/the-secret...
I know people are going to be mad at The Woke Ginger for secretly being paid by a dark money group to repeat their attack lines verbatim. But the man is a dynamo. The charisma is off the charts here. I can't stop listening to his monotonous, unblinking recitation into the camera.
Obviously Jewish people are not responsible for the war, but obviously the βJewish stateβ as Greenblatt calls it is, considering they are a belligerent in the war. If you canβt blame a country that started the war, then who can you blame?
Is this not a completely contradictory statement? Greenblatt begins his by conflating Jewish people and "the Jewish state," and then says how dangerous it is for other people to do that?
Sure thing Alex, language models built on texts from the humanities, are extremely sensitive to prompt inputs, and which produce errors only discoverable by a close read, are going to make obsolete the people trained in the humanities with skills in choosing words carefully and close reading.
I have not gotten a raise at any job I have held in the last 15 years. The only reason I can survive is because I was lucky enough to find new jobs that allowed me to keep up with rising costs. But the last 5 years? Iβve hit a wallβno more new jobs are open
If the government really is worried about Iranian sleeper cells, then it was probably a mistake to systematically reorient the majority of US counterterror resources toward arresting immigrant grandmothers and five-year-olds in bunny hats
(especially if you were planning to start a war against Iran)
