When they're turfed out in November there'll be no shortage of motifs to remind us of this Govt's rudderless utter incompetence.

And the bloody ferries will be at at the top of the list. Surely?

After milking it as much as it could during public hearings to grow their audiences, New Zealand's leading far-right, & anti-vaxx disinfo network now vehemently dismisses Phase 2's report - most likely because it doesn't embrace, & amplify their conspiracy mongering. Entirely expected. #nzpol

Winston Peters is calling for a THIRD Covid enquiry after the first two failed to give his cookers the alternative facts they so desperately need.

He's like poison in the water supply.

National lamenting $60 billion Covid spend while they are on track to borrow $120 billion with no pandemic.

Labour saved 20,000 lives.

National are saving landlords and tobacco

Genuine question. Is there anything that this current government has done in its 2 1/2 years in office that could be described as β€œamong the best in the world?”

When your well laid plan to ambush the opposition with a damming Covid inquiry report backfires spectacularly. Weak sauce, dickwad.

Time to pass a law that any party spokesperson of media outlet that opines with hindsight reckons on pandemic management has to show this chart in the background at all times #nzpol

Current NZ coalition messaging:

"The recovery from the economic downturn caused by our incompetence has been set back by the actions of a US president whose policies we completely support." #NZpol

Scanning the comments from various Govt ministers it’s pretty obvious they couldn’t be bothered reading a summary of the Covid Inquiry’s findings before sharing their thoughts.

I must admit I'm surprised at how little the Royal Commission gave to vaccine opponents, some of whom saw this process as the thing that would vindicate them. Can't get much clearer than this.

Reading Marc Daalder’s super helpful analysis of the 2nd Covid inquiry, it looks as if Ardern’s Govt came through with a B+.
Well done.

As a white middle class kid growing up in the pre-Lange years, the notion that NZ did things first/best rested in my DNA.

These days, not so much.

But. I still believe in one thing.

Wherever you go in the world, you will never get fresh fish as good as here in Aotearoa.

Right now the bills are coming in left, right & centre for the mammoth amount of work required to solarise our little whare at Balloch Street.
Trying to balance the feelings of unease at all that spending with the knowledge that by mid-April we'll be generating power for pretty much all our needs.

Scratched my head for ages over this, and the only even vaguely plausible reason I can think of is nice big untraceable crypto "donations" to Govt ministers from big oil interests.
