unfortunately yes, as there is no standard safe method of AV provided, it creates precedent for nameless services and websites asking for info they never would have otherwise. so now bad actors can use it as cover for phishing and additional data theft for fraud and impersonation.
YEA it takes a bit of time but eventually it will work, it is like a personal discipline sorta thing. emotionally it goes like, horny > angry/sad > "this is chill" over the course of a week or two (anecdotally)
