Same. If the club can find something better than Mixlr, I'd be okay with a reasonable subscription or per-stream fee.
I think the better option then is for the club to find another audio service then. Mixlr is what it is. Can't expect it to make significant changes for a small number of users. (Adding buffering would be significant.)

I have a hunch it's on purpose since Mixlr is meant to be used standalone for live audio. "Pause" doesn't really fit in with their intended usage.
