Keep in mind it's still debatable who wrote the last 40 chapters (as we know it today) and whether they carried on Cao's original plot and intention. I agree the characters were treated differently based on their social class, as expected in Cao's time period and background.

A pullover in an old IK pattern using stash yarn. Fingering weight yarn with complex cables, so it might take awhile! I'm getting 17" for the back on size 4 needles, following the pattern for size S. I'll go down a needle size and do size M for the front for a firmer fabric.

Finished this DK weight sweater last week. Pattern is Liv by Elsebeth Lavold (famous for her Viking designs). I modified the pattern to close the gap on the front and added another set at the neckline. Yarn from Stonehedge fiber mill.

Knitters, what would be a good neckline for this almost-FO? Sleeve cuffs and front/back bottoms are all garter stitch. Need something to tighten up the pieces and highlight the center cable. Garter stitch? Applied icord?

#ShowMeYourKnits this week calls for Gray knitting. This is a top I knitted years ago from my friend @catandsparrow.bsky.social 's #handspun #gradient yarn. I chose a top down pattern to accommodate the limited yardage, and started on the neckline with the lighter shade in case I run out.

When planning a transit day between SF and east bay (and north bay for that matter), the ferry is often the determining factor how the day would be arranged and everything else gets to be planned around it. Early bird gets the boat 🦆⛴️
