Doggie and I basked in the sunshine today. One week down. Five or seven to go. #Hysterectomy recovery. #cancer

One hour later: some things change a lot; some things don’t change at all.

Post-hysterectomy update: Discharged last night.

First impressions: At-home recovery is doable with spouse’s love & support. And, of course, this big puppy is guarding her mama while being super confused by mama’s new sedentary lifestyle. #cancer

In preparation for hysterectomy, I asked my spouse for one of his sweatshirts (for comfort during my 3-day stay at the hospital). He had a better idea: He bought me a stuffed doggie to spray his cologne on, which went on one end (of course, I gathered Teebah’s smells on the other end). #cancer

One more day of this heavy doggie head on my lap before hysterectomy prevents this beautiful soul from placing all her 80 lbs weight on my stomach. #cancer #hysterectomy

I received my cancer diagnosis November 5th (no cap). Ever since, I have been considering posting to unpack my thoughts & emotions, & to raise awareness. Every day, the absurdity of the political scene overshadows those sentiments. I mean, why raise awareness when cancer research is halted? #cancer

Scott was teaching today to half-full classes today. I’ll find out the turnout of mine tomorrow. Word on the street, colleges are having parades on Friday. Never witnessed post Super Bowl parade before.
