‘Same Ingredients, Different Recipe’ in Proposed U.S. Book Ban
House Resolution 7661, introduced on February 24, would withhold federal funds from public classrooms and school libraries alleged to have “sexually oriented material” on their shelves.
They're coming for our books again.
Introduced by far-right idiot Mary E. Miller and co-sponsored by 17 GOP congressmen, HR 7661 would use the hammer of federal funds to force schools nationwide to remove books the GOP doesn't like from library shelves.

if you are in a position to speak up for meaningful change in your industry and you don’t, it means you are a weenie and know you wouldn’t have the juice if the system wasn’t stacked in your favor 🤷🏻♂️

Why We Must Remember Women Writers on International Women’s Day
On International Women’s Day, PEN America is working to free women writers from the rising threats they face around the world.
Around the world, women writers face risks because of what they write, where they write, or simply just *because* they write. On #InternationalWomensDay, we encourage you to learn more about women writers at risk, and read some of their words. pen.org/we-must-reme...

Article headline is shockingly misleading, as if the FBI and Proton are crusading. Payment info and nothing else was provided to the Swiss courts. This has always been a risk when using PM, and they’re clear about this (even providing options for anonymizing payment). Your coverage is disappointing.

This is a huge loss. Danny was such a good dude. Had a long conversation in the shop with him years ago and left with hours of his entertaining work that I still enjoy reading and watching.

I adore Lapham, and I love everything he's done with Bad Idea. But man do I hate Bad Idea's gimmicks. They are, indeed, bad ideas.

You are being misled about renewable energy technology.
YouTube video by Technology Connections
I like the Technology Connects channel. The first half of this weeks video is a really great overview of the state of renewable energy in 2026. And the second half is a barnburner about the state of America in 2026. Kudos to this pedantic guy and his deep dive videos. www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtQ9...

Books don't tell readers who they personally are or who they are supposed to be. They do show readers a variety of characters. Implicit in that is this: "Here are some ways of being." Kids books aren't altering your kid to be someone new. They are simply showing them parts of humanity.

The Gentrification of Video Game History
We’re not all suburban kids who got a Nintendo 64 for Christmas
Ok, since apparently I got nominated for @nyvgcc.bsky.social's award for game journalism based on this piece, I'll share it again: felipepepe.medium.com/the-gentrifi...
Happy that it resonated with so many people across the globe, it fits nicely in a year where Despelote united Latin America XD
