So getting lost is part of the job, don't feel bad. The answer is not always pushing harder, sometimes is better changing the direction to find C😃

I could also give the opposite answer: in countless ways.
Like an orchestra, science can awaken infinite sensations, emotions, even passions. Scientific work is a cultural good.
It doesn’t pursue aesthetic beauty — it pursues understanding.
Its purpose is to know more about humanity and about nature

“How has scientific knowledge in your discipline changed the possibilities of human action?”🤔

My immediate answer: it hasn’t.
And that doesn’t trouble me — any more than a symphony orchestra’s lack of “productivity” should trouble us.
It may not produce economic goods, but it’s vital to our society
