It is bittersweet. I haven’t been close enough to photograph a heron in over a month. I have walked plenty with my camera too. Then, on the day I hear the news, this one permitted me to take its picture for about an hour. I needed that to help calm myself.

Yesterday this beautiful great blue heron permitted me to take its picture at one of my favorite parks.

I have walked plenty recently, but haven’t taken many pictures in over a month. It felt great to take pictures!

My father, Kenneth B. Duce, 77, passed away today after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. I’ll miss him. He supported my artistic dreams my entire life! I love you dad!

Thank you! I have been absent. My father is dying and I am dealing with the dynamics of a dysfunctional family.
