Yes, any kind of milk will do. I’m particularly fond of Elmhurst 1921 cashew milk as there’s only two ingredients and it’s creamy and delicious…

Don’t peel banana. Cut off top & bottom; discard, then slice into 2 inch chunks. Cut off top & bottom of vanilla bean; chop. Snap star anise flowers into 3 parts. First 5 items go in medium pan, bring to boil; cover, simmer 10 mins
Strain; add cashew milk.
Stir & enjoy

(serves 2)
3 cups pure filtered water
1 banana
1 cinnamon stick
1 vanilla bean
2 star anise
1 cup cashew milk
