been having this recurring dream that I own a mysterious new type of home gaming console. in the dream I always call it an Xbox but the games it plays are a retro throwback JRPG, a mecha RTS, and Pokemon Collesium.
slay the spire 2 is REALLY good
so when you have dozens and dozens of these jokes all about this one character, assigning her every possible interest and behavior associated with nerdy teenage girls, you start to feel like the joke is not actually anything about Grace's character and more about this entire category of girls.
the core assumption of that joke structure is a belief in stereotypes - that people's appearances offer inviolable hints to their personality and history. the joke invites the audience to join with the joke teller in judging the subject, assigning them non-normative and implicitly criticized traits.
