Another day on Bardsey and another Blyth’s Reed Warbler - the third of the year! This one found by Greg in Cristin Withy this morning.
A brilliant day for spring overshoots on Bardsey with a Woodchat Shrike livening up my morning census followed later on by a Hoopoe found by Ewan. Not to forget the Red-rumped Swallow that went north and a bonus Nightingale!
A very good end to a guided walk for our visitors from Bangor University this week. Before looking through binoculars I thought there was a Snow Bunting amongst the Linnets and then I had a proper look!
Well done Andrew! It was bound to happen one day, they’ll be like buses now.
Had c.70 of both Grey Plover and Bar-wit on the Point Sandwich side this afternoon, explains their absence!
We are pleased to welcome @ewan_turner23 and @GJLee122 who will be our Assistants for 2025.
Ewan was our intern in 2024, he first visited on one of our University weeks where he was sponsored by @birdsinwales.
Greg has been Assistant @Sandwichbirdobs for the past 3 years.
