My post that says: Today I'm officially done... done with listening to the lies and diminishing my experience... our experience... for the sake of appeasing the voices that wish to oppress us... I've spent the majority of my life being told and shown that I was less than because of the color of my skin, the texture of my hair, the shape of my body, and the thoughts in my head. • That I don't deserve, that we don't deserve, the same level of achievement and success as our fair toned counterparts... because we're "different" and abnormal... I don't give one flying phuck about the insecurities of our oppressors anymore... That gaslighting ends here. I care only about the elevation of us... all of us... as equals, living, breathing, creating, and achieving as celebrated humans, like everyone else... I've spent so much of my time "stuck" feeling like I can only emerge and share my talents if it's significant or total excellence, for fear that anything less would be written off because we're so often written off regardless of our contributions... no more. Like me, love me, hate me, detest me... you choose... but I choose me over fear, from now on... and I forever choose equality for all of us.

Over time I let fear of making people uncomfortable take over, and I lost the confident part of myself that knew I not only deserve a seat at the table, but l'm building a table for others like me

1. They’re not anti-racist by default
2. Infighting causes nothing but division, and strengthens those set to harm all of us
3. We can have varying opinions on random topics, and still have the same goal overall
4. Unity is the only way forward

Last month I watched yt people freak out over black folks morning routine, calling it evil, while ignoring society's demand we be perfect to be accepted

This month I watched a yt woman get paid $750K to call a black autistic child the n word

And they made it political

But “racism doesn’t exist”

So thankful, esp in seeing black and poc talking mental health when it’s so stigmatized in our communities and so many feel invisible. Most my life I was told to keep it to myself, but never again! 💙

People who demean black women online for voicing our opinions are banking on systemic racism that taught us since birth, that if we defend ourselves, we’ll be met with racism and violence. This system is designed to keep black women living in fear and silence, cut off from freedoms given to others

Every inch of us is picked apart & criticized, from what we say about our lens on the world & how we say it, down to our skin and hair. More than ever we’re attacked for daring to have a point of view, as it spits in the face of racists hiding behind performative allyship while attacking black women

Spiteful targeting of black women who are outspoken has reached an all time high & is the definition of racist misogynoir. Every time I see a non-black person continuously belittle a black women, while excusing it as individualized, is reinforcing racism & perpetuates the cycle of harm to all of us
