I've hit the point in the story where all the setup is there. Now it's about knocking it all down, and sticking the landing.
Is it ok to be extremely proud of this? Because I am.

I'm taking other stuff to try and help sleep. A new sleeping pill AND a valerian root supplement. But it isn't working. I'm dreaming WAY more than I used to (which is neat) but I'm definitely not getting proper sleep and it's effecting me during the day.

I'm starting to worry that, having taken it for ten years, I've grown a little too dependent on it. But the fact of the matter is that I've been sleeping terribly for weeks. Might be the lack of physical activity or the recovery process from last year's genuine trauma, but I'm not sure.

Tiny little call for I guess not action but suggestion?
Some ten years ago I had a therapist who recommended a sleeping pill from Natrol called Sleep 'n Restore. Melatonin, valerian root, all natural and smells like ASS, but god damn did it change my life.
They stopped making it last month.

The icon for Nascent Flash, a Warrior ability in FFXIV that heals you for every attack on an enemy for a short time (but long enough to fully heal you). It's a sillhouette of a person holding an axe with a spiral pattern behind them, all colored in green and yellow with a touch of red. As an ability, it is broken as fuck, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
For the FFXIV players, I of course need to acknowledge that I main Warrior (a *tank*), but I still count it as a healer.

It's pretty simple.
I play FFXIV, an MMO, and I realized over the past year that I really enjoy healing (even though I'm not the best at it). And looking back to when I played Overwatch for a bit, my main was Zenyatta, a healer.
Figured it was a cool enough sounding name.
No those things are all enjoyable and rewarding. The frustrating bit is having to work 3 jobs to barely keep your head above water and never having time to dedicate to these pursuits

I'll be ok. I've had way worse bouts over the years, this one just comes after the most exhausting year of my life and it's finally caught up with me lol
Seasonal depression is a hell of a thing.
I'm not even all that sad. I just... don't want to do things.
Thankfully this hasn't effected my writing at all but unemployment is becoming an issue, which sucks, because, well... energy.
But I'll figure it out soon enough.
Alas... had to cut it short.

Anyway, all this is to say: even with the lack of updates on here, my writing is going better than it ever has in the near 6 years I've been doing it.
I'm going to finish this god damn book before summer. I mean, hell, maybe before spring.

And I'm good focusing on other things right now. When you have limited energy reserves, you gotta make sure you use them in the right way. And mine always bottom out around the new year.

Every single online community I've ever been a part of has always grown weird and mean spirited once it grew large enough. Bluesky seems to be no different, which is why I've stopped worrying about follower count and such.
I met some cool people on here. I'm good where I am.

It's part of why I've been posting so little on here for the past week. Not that I'd ever apologize for that... social media shouldn't be an obligation unless it's your actual job. Which, for me, it isn't. And as much as I've enjoyed my time on here, I'm also starting to see some of the cracks.

At first, I thought it was the #streaming thing (which has been a lot of fun, even if I'm going to be changing it up a bit on Sunday). But then I looked at how consistently I've been hitting the 2k words a day mark and, no, it's definitely the writing.

I find a new creative obsession. One that doesn't last. Most of my creative energies go into it.
