at least once every night when I am done with work and everyone is fed and I start to dig into the news, I lean back in my chair and look at the ceiling and sigh and close my eyes and think "I simply can not wait until this motherfucker dies."
I hope I'm wrong but I've settled on the idea that unless the next Democratic president is a generational talent with a sharp focus and an iron will we can pack this whole thing up and go home
Democrats are on the path to winning this year, but it is by default. The party has done a horrific job on politics from almost the minute Trump was defeated in 2020. So, sure, they are winning right now — but it’s because we have no other choices. Not exactly a ringing endorsement.
All the Democrats had to do was crib from the playbook the GOP used against Clinton, Obama, Biden. Instead they’ve been accommodationists to a fault. Sure they’re not fascists like the right, but they’re soft on fascism.

Spent some time today trying to fathom why the markets don’t seem to care about an unfolding catastrophe.
