I have never met a person who hates ebikes after riding one. Even a crappy one. Never.

Riding two abreast is illegal here on a public highway. But I've never heard of that being enforced. It would take a real stroke of bad luck to get caught by the one cop on patrol who isn't on their way to something more important.

I guess the power cable is the safety chain in the event of failure.

There's an assumption here that ebikes are a kids' toy. Perhaps they'll just upgrade to a better ebike and forgo the "big boys toys" altogether.

I should clarify. The people in positions of power who could stop him seem to be doing nothing, which rings as an endorsement of his actions to foreign observers. The acts of defiance by individuals are heroic, and one can hope, will make a difference.
