I just watched I Swear. It's a nice film, strikes a good balance between funny and poignant. And it really is a great performance by Robert Aramayo - you can see why he won the BAFTA for best actor. I thought Peter Mullan was really good too.

Manhunter, the 1986 crime thriller directed by Michael Mann and based on the novel Red Dragon by Thomas Harris, is a horribly underappreciated movie. It's arguably one of the better adaptations of Harris' books. And William Petersen is cool as hell as FBI profiler Will Graham.

I finished season one of The Creep Tapes last night. They're quite fun little episodes, kind of like #horror snacks at 24 minutes long - for when you need a bit of murder before bed to help you get to sleep. Something for Creep completionists, maybe. I'll watch S02.

I just watched Joker: Folie à Deux, and it's really not that bad. It might actually be quite good. If the aim was to subvert audience expectations, then it seems like quite a success. It's probably not a movie I'll ever want to watch again, but I'm glad I've seen it.

I watched Polite Society last night. It's a punchy British action comedy that's just pure fun, with great characters, witty cultural quips and cool costumes. Barack Obama included it in his list of favourite films for 2023 - just more evidence of how awesome #Obama is.

Florence Pugh is a magnificent actress. I watched The Wonder (2022) last night, a decent film lifted to greater heights simply because she's in it. She's been quality since her debut in The Falling (2014) all the way up to Thunderbolts, another film elevated by her. Love her ❤️

"See ya later, Navigator!" I loved Flight of the Navigator (1986) when I was a kid. That spaceship is fantastic. They've been thinking of doing a remake for about 20 years, but never seem to get it done. Wouldn't be as good as the original anyway.
