We have a family friend in Pattaya, and according to him, the locals absolutely despise the Russians but can't do anything about it. I think they'd breathe a sigh of relief if the Russians eventually ran out of money and had to fly home.

As a Thai, I'm really sorry. For what it's worth, it seems to be the issues only in Pattaya, and maybe the nearby area. We're a bunch of sellouts because people like Russian money and our government is too busy squabbling and fighting with each other than actually govern.
