In case you don’t have a go-to pumpkin pie recipe, there’s a reason I’ve been making this one for about 20 years*. Lemme know if you try it!

*I omit the bourbon
*any pie crust recipe should work

An actual slide that was in a menopause lecture aimed at GPs. Presented by a woman GP. Let’s not describe women as β€œbitchy” or β€œpsycho” .. How can we fight medical misogyny when a doctor who works in women’s health thinks it’s okay to put this meme in her slides and joke about it? 😠 #MedSky

Murakami’s latest launched at Kinokuniya with some cute gifts with purchase! One of my priorities every holiday season is to find more time for leisure reading. I’d much rather read than go to a Christmas party tbh πŸ˜… #BookSky #Murakami

While there are unique factors for AuDHDers (e.g sensory overload) that make us more vulnerable to burnout, hospitals are continuing to fail its employees and need to examine its structures. I hope that awareness of Autistic/ADHD burnout will lead to more neuroaffirming workplace accommodations 7/

Anyway, this is not to say that it was my fault that I burnt out. If I were neurotypical, I believe I would’ve quit earlier. AuDHD can affect interoception/bodily awareness which meant I pushed on for longer than I should’ve. The bottom line is: burnout is an *occupational* phenomenon 6/

At the start of the year, I got diagnosed with ADHD & Autism which has reframed everything I’ve gone through. I don’t know if she’s here but it was a fellow doctor from #MedTwitter who read my book and DM’d me asking if I was Autistic … and I replied β€œno, but I can see why you might think so” πŸ˜… 5/

I knew going back to the hospital system was not an option so I entered Academia but due to funding cuts during the pandemic, my contract was not renewed. I then decided to go into Cosmetic Medicine, which I knew I’d get judged for, but that’s what I do now and have run my own clinic for 3 years 4/

My memoir β€œEmotional Female” was published by Penguin Books in 2021, which has been both a blessing and a curse. Dismantling white patriarchal supremacy within Medicine can make one a target.. but I’m proud of the work I’ve done, especially writing it while still recovering from burnout 3/

I was diagnosed with depression, which I accepted but it never felt β€œright” (see more below). I blogged about my experiences, including discussions about the systemic failures in health care (unsafe work hours, bullying, harassment, racism, misogyny) which eventually led to a book deal 2/

Not sure if #MedSky is a thing, but if anyone who used to be friends with me on #MedTwitter wants to reconnect, hi! (I was using @mindbodymiko as my handle there, and I deactivated about a year ago)

Currently reading: Butter by Asako Yuzuki (about halfway)

Up next: The Lantern of Lost Memories by Sanaka Hiiragi

Hoping to connect with others on #BookSky who enjoy Japanese & Korean translated fiction, esp cosy lit.
