Character has to matter again at some point, mark. It’s ridiculous. I agree he is unqualified based on the requirements of the job, but he’s also unqualified based on the requirements of being a decent person with integrity. We can’t overlook integrity or any other civic virtue. He has none.
But this shifts the blame away from the real culprits here- we the people. We had a choice. It was clear, and not enough of us made the right choice. He should have never been n the ballot- true. The institutions failed us- true. But the ultimate arbiters of power in a republic also failed the task.
I’m struggling to teach the Constitution. If I teach what it truly says, it defies the orange one. But in this area, parents will attack my reputation and destroy my career—just as I near retirement. It’s both frightening and deeply disheartening.

I feel like it’s pretty practical. It gives real classroom stories, and they include win stories and fail stories. They do approach the fail stories with a growth mindset, and offer up what they learned from those failures.
