Itβs always the hardest in Feb and then the weight finally starts to lift in early March.
We had a blue sky with white clouds kinda day and life is popping up everywhere. πΏ
The lighting with those contrasting colors!! π€©
Happiest Birthday!!
That teeny tiny little mantis. π
I recently found Slime-O Worlds on other platforms and the creator talks about how, if thereβs more than one, they smell for and seek each other out. Smart little slimes - so neat!
A dark brown, lightning-like pattern on white paper. They are the track left behind by a slime mold network. On the bottom is a piece of rotting tree bark. A larger yellow blob of slime mold is visible in the corner.

Thatβs cool!! Itβs like a forest scene. π³
I so appreciate seeing othersβ native #bee pictures because it prompted me to check on my cocoons. The boys are back in town!! Letβs go! π
Ceratiomyxa sphaerosperma from Mera, Pastaza, Ecuador. This tiny slime mold makes its spores on little stalks, giving it a distinctive appearance. My favorite feature of these are the glass-like stems.

Yes! The stems! Itβs like a glass muppet.
So handsome! I love their bathing dance.
Not for long⦠spring will call you back out there.
Youβre so lucky to live in their neighborhood. Epic beings!
A full moon with a lunar eclipse that makes it partially reddish. There are faint stars.
This morningβs reminder there some things, some events, that the collective hubris of humanity cannot control.
And thatβs a beautiful thing.

Hope to see you at Seedy Sunday in Kelowna! I'm giving a talk on gardening for native bees at 1 pm. #bees
Madly preparing for this show, which I'll install tomorrow. I've made cyanotypes in winter for the first time and I stitched 4 new pieces in the wee hours of the morning! Found bits of cut fabric in my tea this morning. I love this!
Yaaaay!! Congratulations! π

Gung hay fat choy! Happy Year of the Fire Horse, which happens to be my sign. (So now you know how old I am!) Today my book launches in U. S. bookstores, so I feel it's and especially auspicious occasion! #victorygardensforbees #bees
Worth it? Also, yes. π
Itβs always a good idea to try out different perspectives.
First queen of the year. π
Oh no! π² Thatβs a bit more time outdoors than I had in mind. I hope youβre able to find a new space even though you do make camping look pretty darn luxurious.
Youβre the reason I started growing these many moons (and social media platforms) ago. Such cool flowers!!
Nature is waking up! Soon enough itβll be difficult to drag you back indoors. I canβt wait!
