blaming home forward exclusively, however, would be a very short-sighted choice when they exist within a dysfunctional system

if we're going to demand residents engage with difficult systems, we need to start with at least doubling staffing at all buildings, while also increasing their pay

again, the company absolutely needs to be held accountable for its mistakes and poor operation

and the city *has* to find ways to minimize the systemic garbage that only ends up hurting residents and the people trying to serve them

i know the mayor would prefer to shovel people into open units

and right now, employees in HF facilities are terrified about the loss of federal funds and the prospect of bankruptcy

(check that; I suspect they're not actually terrified, because I don't think they have enough dopamine left)

case management is a nightmare because staff are underpaid and overworked...and expected to do *everything* for individuals who are ill, injured and/or have few skills

(ofc management works remotely, shocker)

when someone with insufficient support and untreated illness rips out flooring and does their own rewiring, that unit is going to sit empty for however long it takes to jump through the hoops to get that shit repaired

when the unit is contaminated with hazmat, it's even longer

I am not ever going to support hf's management (or their salaries)

but i think it's important to recognize that the logistics are abysmal

it can be difficult and complicated to get people into units (and often more so to get people out)

i'm pretty confident they are all aware that they can walk away

i feel perhaps you need more of a reminder
