The percentage of food increase due to transportation costs will not be nearly as much as the increase in how much it costs to fill the tank of a large suv.
But true, we will all feel it in some way. large truck owners more so.

Pls pls show some guts so i can fuel my f350 with no consequences π
I must continue to burn as much cheap gas as possible or my country will die π
Pretty Pleeeease π₯Ή
And so many hated us for advocating for more protected bike lanes and trains.
$1 billion per day right now for our latest illegal war.
Gas prices to the moon! π
Lfg!!!
We need a ticker showing the cost to the American taxpayer every time a bomb is dropped, a jet takes flight, a warship moves etc
Seems to be plenty of cash for that, not for, you know, actual living.
We can start with a 4 day work week, and go from there
Ain't no way they're letting the worlds biggest narcissist out of his bubble without guaranteeing there's some cheering being blasted out of the speakers to drown out the boos.
H Street is a car sewer, which makes it not a fun place to hang out.
That should save the city a quarter million dollars.
Bringing back Limewire to illegally rip copies of reporting suppressed by the government is definitely some cyberpunk shit

Can Anita Bonds just leave already?
Why does she feel the need to subvert the will of DC voters on her way out?
Who does she think she is?
Interesting: Urbanist group @ggwash.org is suing @ddotdc.bsky.social over its refusal/failure to release a study the city conducted on congestion pricing possibilities in downtown D.C. The study was finished in 2020, but has never been made public β even in response to FOIA requests.
DDOT continues to publish before/after analyses of safety projects. The numbers for the 9th street NW bike lanes suggest that we should be doing these projects everywhere we can. Crashes plummeted, pedestrian and bike traffic skyrocketed, and vehicle travel times dropped.
Google says 50 minute ride for me! We shall see. Heading out
In 1982 the road is open to cars, with car parking on both sides of it. Today it is pedestrianised and a child plays hopscotch
Eerste van der Helststraat, Amsterdam in 1982 and today
Would love to see these graphs as something like "transported anywhere by bicycle", instead of siloing everything into "going to work".
But I do understand that commuting to work has some statistical value. The real ones imo.
Maybe pedestrianize a couple pedestrian heavy areas to drive home the point.
Give the people a taste of what a better life could actually be like.
But then again, that would probably require a police bill of half a milli.
But then again, we have a lot of NG standing around with nothing to do.
So now that we are no longer able to bike continuously on 15th Street through Lafayette Square,
Will ddot FINALLY prioritize building the missing chunk of bike lane on 15th?!?!?!
Feels like this should have been done years ago.
Life comes at you fast
Nah, I think you can no longer power the vehicle.
Like, riding an ebike. Power output is limited at a certain speed, it doesn't just slam you back to it's max potential on a downhill lol.
Technically, it's not tricky and is already a working system irl.
Ah yes, just the way the Mayor wants it π₯Ή

A loser and also evil. A double whammy.
Ah shit we at it again!

Bro, same.
damn cars man
Lol. βSave Connecticut Avenueβ...really? Why?
I wouldn't believe ANYTHING that group has to say regarding safety. Even their "fact checks" on their website regarding their core issue are just vibes that they think sound neat.
