I was recently in Italy on vacation and came across this gem in one of the museums we visited. I have no Italian ancestry, but every time I find something like this, I marvel. The family tree begins in 1214. And while there are only a few dates included, it appears to end in the early 16th century.

I agree that flight attendants should be paid fairly, but one fact that has been overlooked in the conversation is that the practice of paying for only when in the air is the industry norm in North America and THAT needs to be addressed.
We do know that. We also know that this is the height of the summer travel season & availability is minimal. If this goes on 1 week, more than 1 million travellers will be affected, and other airlines, rather than accommodate, will price gouge. This is not as simple as AC just finding us flights.

My husband is descended from Margaret Scott was hanged on 22 September 1692. She was around 75ctears old and a widow. The only victim from Rowley.
I use the dates and spellings to know where to look for the stories. Hubby says that makes me a good genealogist. 😊😊

Two things in Canada help keep our Federal elections fair and honest - Elections Canada, and hand counted paper ballots.
We did. There are free trade agreements with over 59 countries. We need to continue building on them.

I previously found a death notice in another paper. It gave her name, age, husband's name, and residence - nothing about her. Because I had found that notice, I didn't look for this one. I was glad to have found anything on my female ancestor for the time. A good lesson--check ALL the local papers!
Sometimes I make a discovery that just makes my heart sing, like this death notice I discovered in a Nottingham newspaper for my 4th great-grandmother dated September 1834! She sounds like she was a lovely soul 💜

As a descendant of recent migrants, knowing where & the conditions my ancestors left, fills a bit of a void. As a bit of a mutt, with no true pedigree, 😊 I sometimes envy people who know & actively practice their ancestral culture. My research has helped me to reconnect with some part of that.

Through a little research, we discovered it was a game from abt 1910 - pin the flame on Santa's pipe!
My fav Christmas heirloom. Hung in my husband's g-mother's house every Christmas for as long as anyone can remember. She would fold it up to put it away every year. A local conservator steamed and mounted it to ready for framing. Now it hangs on our wall every Christmas. #Genealogy
