It's not quite the most pressing issue at the moment, but the American people absolutely have a right to know the names of the federal officials who shot and killed a man peacefully protesting, who was on his knees, prone in the street when they shot him in the back.

A digital poster in the style of a World War II propaganda piece. Isolaed on a yellow background, a normal, squarish, 20-something guy with glasses is sitting working on a laptop. A ghostly figure of Hitler has his arm around the guy and is grinning and shaking a fist triumphantly looking at the laptop screen. On the lid of the laptop where an apple might otherwise be is an openAI logo, bright green, and dripping green ooze down the lid. Text on the poster, in combinations of sans-serif type and brush script reads: Using Generative AI? You’re prompting with Hitler! GenAI is a Fascist Project! Try using your brain instead Don’t surrender your creativity to the tech billionaire’s control

What are you talking about my man
I'm a fan of nuanced discussion but at this point I need to indulge in some black and white thinking and be clear that if you entertain AI generated art in any form I have no respect for you
I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.
Because it needs to be said:
The Salvation Army does not exist to save you
The Salvation Army exists to convert you
And if they cannot convert you, they will not lift a finger to save you
Do not support those whose “charity“ comes with conditions

🔥 @gianmarcosoresi.bsky.social on the comedians taking the Saudi 💰 : “It’s embarrassing. We should bring back shame. When they get asked who their favorite comedian is they should stop saying George Carlin.”
If trans rights get taken away then that opens the door for them to take away others’ rights also. Saying trans rights are human rights is not hyperbole or an exaggeration because you know it’s not so don’t leave anything to chance. especially when dealing with legitimately gleefully evil people.
#DnD advice: Troll problem? Deal fire or acid damage, or take away their wifi access for 5 minutes.
Whether you like or dislike what’s said, free speech is at the heart of our democracy.
Protecting it should be one of our core missions as a nation.
If there were ever a moment for the so-called “free speech warriors” to speak out, now would be the time.

We're witnessing the culminating rot of shareholder capitalism in real time.
Some of the most powerful corporations in America have sided with an authoritarian regime in order to protect their short term profits — the fundamental rights of everyone else be damned.
Charlie Kirk was not a good person.
That's not a controversial thing to say. It's not even an opinion. It's a demonstrable, documented, empirical fact.
By his own actions, and words, he was not a good person.
If you struggle with that, I don't know what to tell you.
I hope all of Rowling’s projects fail, that the things she creates turn to ash, and that all the people’s she’s terrorized with her platform and money can know some peace in those facts.

Repost if you support trans people and think we're neato
Gonna be cynical for a moment
Gavin may be doing now what might idk get the Democrats the energy for the mid terms, but he feels like the textbook example of if he becomes president he won't fix anything fundemantal which just creates the scene for the next Trumpet to win
Red states are not lost causes full of inbred idiots.
I think the fact that the president can make up a bullshit pretext about crime, activate various states' national guard units and invade a major city with basically minimal pushback of any kind reflects very poorly on Americans generally
You still need to use your critical thinking, logic, and research skills to investigate claims and posts before just outrage sharing, even things you agree with. Also being leftist doesn't exempt you from being racist, transphobic, or homophobic.
My "hot takes" are generally met with a lot of 'that's not a very hot take'
But I think 'bad people need to be corrected, not punished' is one that would be spicy at large. Sometimes the correction *is* being locked away to protect the public from dickheads, but punishment is generally unhelpful.
Reading is important because the ability to focus, think and reason is what will preserve our freedom.
