I've also been back into writing and I think I've found the perfect way to organise at least the more general text parts - I think I will have to go back to Twine to do actual dialogue trees, but am also keen for any software suggestions for organising those.
I don't think this is necessarily all the way done, but it's at least a start - to give you some idea of what Bromking Penninsula is like (and how small it actually is)

I can't remember where I read it, I think a DnD subreddit, but rice in a semi-random pattern gives a good landmass shape. then scanned it in to edit!

fun fact: I drew that sun in Ultimate Doom Builder and exported it out as an image file. I'll probably be making a lot of backgrounds in Doom as well (using commercially licensable textures, ofc)
