Today, my term as director of the Psychological Science Accelerator — one of the largest collaborative communities in psychology — ends.

Working w/ @psysciacc.bsky.social was very hard work. But it was incredibly meaningful.

Three-quarters of teens say it often or sometimes makes them feel happy (74%) or peaceful (72%) when they don’t have their smartphone.

These positive emotions are much more common than negative feelings, like anxiety or loneliness.

Please don't use 'power analysis' when you mean 'sample size justification'. Power analysis is only one approach to sample size justification (online.ucpress.edu/collabra/art...) - accuracy and feasibility (!) are often more in line with the actual inferential goal of a study.

This may well be the first: if you saw a paper in @natureportfolio.bsky.social Nat Hum Behav that you think would benefit from an independent replication, would like to do one & maybe have it published in the actual original journal, here is your chance #AcademicSky

RAND is hiring social and behavioral scientists to fill some really exciting positions (LA, DC, PGH, Boston), and offering exceptional salary+benefits. Would highly recommend this - RAND was an extremely valuable experience early in my career.
