Despite my 6 year old's insistence that he was, "the hungriest man in the world," he was not able to finish 2 chocolate donut bars and 5 breakfast sausages at breakfast. He did, however, eat 1.5 donut bars and 4 sausages. I'm pretty sure he'll be 6 feet tall by next week.

Barbara Kingsolver - she doesn't have a lot of books compared with some, but I learn something new every time I re-read her work.
One of my neurodivergent traits is blowing tasks way out of proportion. The longer I wait, the more monstrous they feel. Today I called my insurance company because they denied several claims (including an MRI), and the problem was resolved in just a few minutes by a very kind representative. Whew!
I'm 3/4 through a YA novel, and it just reached the point where I'm not sure I want to read any more. It just got way too angsty. Normally I wouldn't quit at this point, but I'm not sure I can handle this level of angst any more.
The flu sucks. Today I went through a small box of tissues entirely by myself, and I've started on the second one. 🤧
Consider getting your kids’ teachers holiday gifts. They work ridiculously hard in a field which affords them very little dignity, in a country which is trying to demolish their institution. A bottle of wine or a gift card for coffee is a surprisingly big mental health boost.
