Wasn’t it *ALREADY* “HBO Max” before becoming “Max” and so switching *back* to “HBO Max” isn’t actually new, right!?!?

I wonder how the academic research community would feel about a tool like this being used to create a comparison group in a social science research dataset. This seems like a souped-up version of propensity score matching.

Two weird things I noticed on a rare trip to Bojangles yesterday: 1) at 2:00 (hardly the lunch rush) there were, like, 15 employees working. How is that profitable? and 2) I always get mayo for my chicken biscuit (come at me), & I've noticed lately that they use Hellmann's. Where's the Duke's y'all?
Wild that the WUNC piece never mentions WHY these funds were cut. I mean, we know why, but that needs to be written in print and said aloud again and again.
I still feel like we should appeal to the arbiters of proper English language usage to change the spelling of the word 'buses' to 'busses,'
I used to think the same, then I thought about the need to write a second dissertation...and then I was like, nah, I'm good.
End of rant. Not sure what I expect from these posts. Just wanted to get it off my chest I guess. But definitely don’t expect anyone to comment below with legal, but *extremely petty* moves between now & our move-out date to register our disappointment with the owner’s quick & cold decision. /end
Not the case here. The rent money we’d’ve saved would’ve been a boon. Also-we live in a desirable neighborhood now-so if this house hits the rental market tomorrow, it’ll likely be rented out in a couple weeks. It just seems like this could’ve gone differently w/ the owner more of a human to us 8/
I know this because when I owned a home that I rented out, I pulled out every stop to help my service industry tenants during COVID-going so far as to applying for mortgage assistance to keep them from having to pay rent. It just seemed like the humane course to take. 7/
Property records suggest that our monthly rent far exceeds the home’s mortgage & since salary info for public employees is public, the owner, a Director-level state employee (not in NC), doesn’t seem to be hurting financially.
If roles were reversed I’d want to be a human & help my tenants. 6/
With zero discussion, the owner quickly denied our request, claiming we signed a contract that they expected us to honor.
Fine. I get that.
But given [gestures everywhere] I didn’t think I was being naive in asking for the grace of 1 month’s rent. 5/
Even with our request to leave a month early, we still provided the property manager & the owner 60 days notice of intent to vacate. We’ve cared for this house. Always paid rent on time, & endured annual rent increases with little pushback. 4/
But we’re a month off (meaning our lease and mortgage timeline will overlap in the first month). We kindly asked our property manager to contact the owner to see if they would extend us some grace and let us terminate the lease one month early. This would be an immense boon to our moving costs 3/
In our current housing market, you’re at the whim of fierce competition when buying a home. For example, we’re currently under contract on a new home that we had to place an offer on fast lest someone else bid it out from under us. We tried to get closing to align with our orig. lease termination 2/
North Carolina is an unfriendly state to renters. It’s sad. When I lived in MD, the law said buying a house was justification for breaking your rental contract/lease early. This makes sense, right? We champion home ownership in America. You’d think we’d break down barriers to increase it. 1/
I’m literally five qualifying payments away from the required 120 in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program from having my student loan balance forgiven.

Those saying "Putin must really *have something* on Trump if he's abandoning Ukraine"
Like...what!? What dirt or scandal could anyone possibly uncover at this point that would end Donald Trump's presidency? The rot within his supporters is absolute and ruinous. We're in the wilderness, y'all.

Y'all, we *already* have a teacher shortage; particularly a non-white female teacher shortage. Prior research indicates that kids learn best from teachers who look like them. Why make it more difficult for teachers of color to get into our increasingly diverse classrooms?

It is overwhelmingly disheartening to watch leadership in nearly *every aspect* of my life make decisions that will *objectively bring harm* to the the institutions & students I serve, my neighbors & my community, my city, state & nation - and also my family & me.
I feel so helpless right now.

Is anyone familiar with a fast/easy way to download all my Student Loan *PAYMENT* history from studentaid.gov? I have my loan history downloaded, but for payments, I basically had to take 26 screen shots of history. Y'all I'm *SO CLOSE* to having my 120 PSLF payments. I wanna get this loan forgiven!
Speaking of - I would love to see a Cage Match™ between Waffle House and Church's Chicken for the Where I'm Most Likely to Catch a Stray Projectile While Eating My Meal Championship Belt.
Ma'am: This is a Waffle House stan account.
The same meal I get for $12 at Waffle House will cost me $30 at Cracker Barrel.
