This measure seeks to rob all of us of the ability to demand that the administration follow the law and abide by the Constitution. nwlc.org/press-releas...
This is not justice, itβs enabling an authoritarian power grab that would take away one of the last remaining checks on the Trump administration. It effectively ties the courtsβ hands β even when the governmentβs actions are overtly lawless and incredibly harmful.
My statement on Senate Rs' attempt to eliminate courts' ability to promptly address lawless behavior by the federal government:
If this stays in the bill, only a billionaire would be able to get prompt relief from the courts when this administration breaks the law.
Here's Emily Martin of the National Womenβs Law Center on what's going on here.
"If this measure stays in the bill, only a billionaire would be able to get prompt relief from the courts when this administration breaks the law,β she said in a statement.

Giving new tax breaks for billionaires is bad enough.
Paying for these tax breaks by robbing all of us of our health care, child care, and student loan assistance is even worse.
Tell Congress: families over billionaires. on.nwlc.org/nocuts

As a former child junior olympic-level runner, I have a few thoughts on the attacks on trans girls in sports. I ran for one of the most competitive teams in Southern California, and people who ran for my have gone on to become professional athletes. And these bans: they're fucking NONSENSE. π§΅
URGENT: The Senate is voting on a funding bill today that would facilitate Trump and Muskβs power grabβaccelerating our governmentβs decline toward an authoritarian oligarchy and hurting all of us.
Thinking back to the early 90s when so-called Travelgateβthe firing of seven executive office employees and the allegation that there might be some conflict on interest at playβwas a national scandal that went on for years and years. Anyway, here we are.
Hmmm. Refusing to recruit highly qualified individuals specifically because they are Black and preferring less qualified white applicants for the same role. If only there were laws about this sort of thing.
copy of the washington post with text: Don't back down. don't retreat. don't be complicit in authoritarianism. we are under attack.
This morning, at each Congressional office on Capitol Hill, their copy of the Washington Post was delivered with our message β and more than 5,000 of your signatures β front and center: Don't back down.
We're demanding REAL action, because our freedoms depend on it.
A woman speaks into a horn at a rally before the US Department of Labor.
Proud to speak at the Department of Labor today against Elon Musk and Donald Trumpβs misogynistic attempts to roll back core civil rights protections so billionaires can run free. We see what you are trying to steal from us.
Elon Musk is a terrible president.
Guys Iβm beginning to think all of this isnβt about fairness in womenβs high school sports
ICYMI: We were joined by over 175 organizations to condemn Trump's executive order discriminating against transgender, nonbinary, and intersex people, falsely claiming to be βdefending women against gender ideology.β
This order is cruel & lawless. Period.
Hegseth is unacceptable. Your senators should hear it from you. act.nwlc.org/a/hegseth-se...
I have heard rumors that Republican senators "don't like the guy but just need one more thing." It's difficult to credit when there is truly an avalanche of evidence of unfitness, especially if we stipulate that gross misogyny is relevant. www.nbcnews.com/politics/nat...
trans people will always exist
They can say what they want, but they can never change the truth: Trans people always have and always will be here. This first slew of executive orders is meant to cause confusion and chaos, but we don't know the full impact yet.
Seems like the more wealth and power people/institutions have, the more grotesque cowardice they are showing in meeting this moment.
So amazing! I am delighted to hear about this next chapter for you and for Roosevelt.
Punchbowl's @benbrodydc.bsky.social got a copy of FTC Commissioner Andrew Ferguson's pitch to be chair under Trump:
My debut column for MSNBC.
Opinion | There are many reasons to disqualify Pete Hegseth. His opinions on women are enough. www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnb...
Oh look, it's me and @sorayachemaly.bsky.social and @jessmcintosh.bsky.social and @sharkfu.bsky.social and @emilyjmartin98.bsky.social and a whole host of other brilliant organizers and thinkers getting you (and each other) ready to fight for sex ed in 2025. You def want to join us.
I keep seeing this reference to public bathrooms as women's "private spaces" and I just do not understand it. Strangers are strangers even when they're women! We're not communing in there for hours at a time, talking about perimenopause and who's getting divorced and shaving our legs.
βYou couldnβt come up with a better distillation of the real Trump agenda than paying for tax breaks for the rich by gutting Medicaid and increasing child hunger.β

one down, who's next???
This right here. Gender policing targets trans women and girls for the most severe harm, but also invites harassment and violence against ANY woman or girl who departs from the narrowest gender stereotypes. We all have a personal stake in this fight.

Mediaite obtained the police report of the Pete Hegseth alleged sexual assault incident. The details are horrific and should be disqualifying.
they will sanction violence by those who reinforce the gender hierarchy while enacting violence against those who challenge it. whatβs being protected is not women but the right to dominate women.
