Every once in a while I think about how, 35 years ago, Disney produced a live-action, primetime TV series about Donald Trump buying a haunted mansion in the Caribbean and teaming up with the ghost of a rapping pirate to solve crimes using a sci-fi superboat, or else he’ll go to Hell.

Agreed. This is bullshit.
Chalamet was wrong, and people were right to point out he was wrong, but Docter did something truly damaging, espousing fundamentally homophobic ideology as his excuse (i.e. that queerness doesn’t belong in the mainstream) and that’s intensely fucked up.
