Outside does take a bit of getting used to - but what doesn't?? So damp.
The real moment of truth is the bottom of the ballot: would you rather be represented by the independent racist or a party of racists? Pro-life Sinners, or a delusional paranoiac?
I am quite, quite excited to be bringing these guys back to Dublin and literally everyone should go because everyone should experience a Necks show at least several times. Thursday 15th May in The Sugar Club!

Zoh Amba Trio with Chris Corsano & Nick Dunston at Arthur's Blues & Jazz on Thursday 6th March 2025. Tix via link in bio.
Glowing review from Richard Williams at The Blue Moment.
This looks excellent. Playing until next Wednesday, Dubliners.
At Grand Social on Saturday night, Califone opened with a spellbinding version of "(Red)"...stretched-out, dubbed, like a country-blues Can. Just stunning.
It seems that everyone Joni Mitchell knew in the seventies spoke in perfect flow and rhythm.

I imagine it closely tracks the growth of the B format paperback...you could look at when imprints like Picador were launched (1972, it appears).
Reminds me of the invention of the equally meaningless term "world music" as a way of staking out space in record shops, although that one literally was the work of four people in a (doubtless) smoke-filled room.
I was born in 1972 and spent a lot of the years since working in the book trade β interesting to learn that a concept which seemed part of the furniture only popped into the world around the same time I did.

For years I've been wondering whatever happened to Hal Hartley, and here comes Tone Glow with a long interview that...doesn't really leave me much the wiser but it seems like I've missed a lot since Amateur.

Vicar Street is about as large a venue as I'd be bothered going to, and I don't foresee ever crossing the threshold of this proposed 2,000 capacity barn. Like the sound of the 250 seat venue around the corner though.
