Looks like tomorrow will bring votes on a Republican plan to fund tax cuts for the rich by slashing Medicaid.

So this is a great time to contact your Member of Congress.

The termination of 850 Indian Health Service physicians, nurses, and dentists will have a grave impact on access to care for millions of Native Americans.

17 state Attorneys General are suing to end 504. You know, the program that provides support for students who have a disability. Like asthma or diabetes or dyslexia. Or kids who have hearing loss or a vision loss. Sure. That seems like something we should toss out. πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Texas House Representative Andy Hopper introduced bill 2657 which would dismantle the Texas Education Agency. He is NOT interested in improving public education. Does TEA need an overhaul? Probably. Are there problems that need to be addressed? Definitely. But, throwing TEA away won’t fix anything.

You know, I really hoped we would just see a lot of golfing interrupted by middle of the night nonsense covfefe tweets. Like last time. Boy was I wrong.

Gulf of America? What a colossal waste of time and energy that could be spent so many other ways and be more important.

Just spent $$$ on seeds for a vegetable garden. Hopefully I won’t grow a $25 bean and a $30 cucumber.

Book challenge with a twist: I love Barbara Kingsolver. She digs deep into our troubled society whether it’s the opioid crisis, the broken foster home system or all the things we do wrong when we assume our way is the way and try to force it on others. 18 and 19/20

Every time I read about banning books, I think of this:

Reading a book with a gay character will not make you gay any more than reading a book about Einstein will make you a genius.
If you're afraid that books might change someone's thinking, you're not afraid of books β€” you're afraid of thinking.
