Lovely! Cool to see you pick up the pencil again. ☺️

Windsurf is so empowering. Thank y’all for the work you’re doing!
Just surfin' the web! 🏄
I hear this. Still a struggle for me, but I’m getting there, too. ❤️
As I open up about my emotions in safe spaces, I’ve been so encouraged to see other men do the same.
We all feel like there was an unwritten rule we were taught, as kids, that difficult emotions were to be hidden.
There is real freedom in openly expressing them!
I’ve always loved this. Thanks for the reminder.
Here’s my 2025 experiment: I’m going to try to open up more and trust the outcome, whatever it may be.
This is normally very uncomfortable for me!
First thought on that note: As I age, I feel both a comfort that I won’t be some world-changer (in a grand sense) and also some sadness about that.
Cloud Cuckoo Land. East of Eden (never read it before). Thinking: Fast and Slow.
Totally agree. Engagement directly equals revenue in the short-term, which is why it’s so addictive. There just aren’t great user satisfaction metrics, over longer time periods, that public companies can equally rely on.
I hadn’t considered this before but that totally makes sense. Not perfectly apples-to-apples because the other team in their championship games could be mediocre. But it’s a fair point.
Same question!
Have a flight tomorrow. Thanks for the reminder ;)
In the long run, I think Figma’s biggest competitor isn’t going to be Adobe, it’s going to be AI code editors.
Just as Figma consolidated design, prototyping, and cloud collaboration, AI code editors will consolidate design and code.
Now is the time! Jump into Windsurf.
I’m now buying the Windsurf hype. Loved Cursor initially, but Windsurf is more rigorous and produces fewer bugs when the prompts are well-constructed, in my experience.
I’ve been using it today and have felt great about it, compared to Cursor. Haven’t hit any overload issues since I upgraded to a paid plan, but that might be coincidental.
Same!
Thanks for sharing! Do apps have any defects when rendering in black and white? Also, is the latency really comparable to a normal device (iPad, Mac, etc)?
Yes! I often try to use this to my advantage by finding as many ways to get “fresh eyes” as I can. Walks, switching contexts, etc.
Me neither!
AI, right now, is the worst it will ever be. And tools like Cursor are already pretty amazing at helping us get started.
This next wave of products is going to be so inspiring as designers start crossing that technical barrier like never before.
👋
Love that town! Was lucky enough to visit about 12 years ago.
I really try to do both, as hard as that can be. Each should inform the other. The key is to be willing to update the vision based on what you learn from the experience. Otherwise, it gets stale too quickly.
RE: nostalgia… it’s interesting that the design feels like Twitter circa 2015.
One thing I’ve noticed about Bluesky is that the community seems to thoughtfully *read* posts.
A lot of attention has been placed on content creators these days, but it’s also our responsibility as content *consumers* to slow down and thoughtfully absorb.
