Crocuses blooming in my yard, one of the earliest signs of spring in Chicago.

I’m calling it. It’s officially spring in Chicago when the crocuses bloom.

It's always an exciting time of the year when the sandhill cranes fill the sky as they head north. Photo taken from my Chicago North Side yard.

Beach in Evanston, which is a tidy little suburb north of Chicago packed absolutely to the gills with bougie people and Northwestern University students.

Only included the winter tree to remind that, no, we are not in the tropics. It’s just really nice out today!
