Years ago, a young man from Puerto Rico was appointed to fill a vacancy on Erie City Council. When he ran for election, people told him to "go back where you came from." He lost, as did our community. Erie's most vulnerable people benefitted when he became head of a social service agency.
Maybe that's why he ordered tripe to be flown to LA from Hector's, an Italian restaurant in Erie, Pa. No secret ingredients!

Just visited NYC from the place that once won the Golden Snowglobe Award for snowiest city (Erie, PA.) I was so impressed. Streets were plowed. Crossings were cleared. I was in awe!
I was surprised by my own revulsion at hearing The National Anthem performed with full-throated gusto at a college basketball game. I lyrics about bombs bursting in air only made me think of pepper spray and tear gas. I took a knee.

GateHouse bought the paper, acquired Gannett and AP coverage was dropped for USA Today & Reuters. Coverage is greatly diminished. I donate to AP to support its journalism.
