I think the computer without a screen plugged in is a decent analogy, like just because there isnβt visual representation doesnβt mean the work itself isnβt happening. I have strong spatial reasoning, pretty necessary for my job. Itβs an interesting phenomenon though!

Additionally to this phenomenon is the ways in which having a job, has blurred and complicated the idea of what youβre held responsible for. I think people are forced to surrender their sense of responsibility/ownership to the imperative of holding down a job. LLMs outputs simply exacerbates this.
