Forgot to mention our assigned NPC for the act was an archangel and my wizard was dragging around an imp like a child for the last 3rd of the act cuz the imp was showing us the way to the villain.

Our DM resolved it via that spawning an abyssal chicken, but man was I hoping for an evil living sandwich familliar.

...unfortunately I'm playing a wizard which means curiosity, several rations I'm free to use and I was also fresh out from being sick at the time so the evil dark gem energy get's infused into the ration.

So there we are, sitting right under the villain's tower (the thing had pillars), making moonshine to convert one type of gem into another.
As our DM explained, to convert one into another we had to enfuse the prior type into an item we had on us. So we do that, but...

To get to the BBEG's base we had to cross a desert (takes ~7 hours) and have I believe 3 magic gems of different colors, we had 4, one with a repeated color when we reached the base so we had to basically alchemy the third one which required alcohol.
