Oh, and one last note, I find it easiest when doing gameplay code to write out my intention and then translate that into script. If you decide to do this, anytime you use the word "when" is almost always a chance for events (signals in Godot), so I recommend getting familiar with those!

More on that last point, if you ever find yourself repeating the same code over and over, you should find a way to simplify it. Usually this comes by either a Switch/Match statement, creating a new function, using Callables, etc., although this is getting into advanced territory for a beginner.

The biggest ideas to comprehend early on are:
- Everything can be represented as data types
- Art, physics, and gamplay logic in games are all different "layers"
- Your code should be generic and easy to read
