This is a positive step but the Met must upgrade this to a full trafficking investigation, with sufficient resources.
My constituent was one of the 100s of victims abused by Mohamed Al-Fayed & his cronies.
They deserve justice, not token gestures.

In 2014, four masked men rushed into
@paulkohlersw19.bsky.social's house and beat him severely. After discovering restorative justice charity @whymeuk.bsky.social Paul and his wife and daughter, who were also present, sat down with one of the attackers.

Congratulations to Harris Academy Wimbledon on receiving the Challenge Award from the National Association for Able Children in Education (NACE).

Very concerned about serious incident on Wimbledon Broadway last night. My thoughts go out to all those affected.
Thanks to officers attending from nearby Wimbledon police station. Iβm in close communication with BCU commander and will endeavour to keep constituents informed.
If you were in vicinity of Wimbledon Broadway last night & can help police in their enquiries, please come forward.
This tragic murder is terrible reminder that even in somewhere as safe as Wimbledon weβre not immune from evil scourge of knife crime.

I spoke to BBC London about the impact of losing public access to both of our local police stations in Merton in two weeksβ time.
Residents are rightly concerned about what this means for community safety & trust in policing.
It was good to sit down with Sangeeta, the Postmistress at Wimbledon Post Office, to discuss the imminent closure.
I know many of my constituents are understandably concerned about losing this service. Weβre now contacting the council to explore options, including a new site.
I welcome the Met Policeβs major operation across Merton, with 23 arrests & dangerous drugs, weapons & firearms taken off our streets.

Bus services are critical for my constituents - in some cases they're the only public transport options available.
Following the recent announcement from operator Go Ahead, I've written to Sadiq Khan, asking for guarantees about the future of local bus services.
The Met confirms both Merton's police stations will close to the public at the end of Februaryπ
We have a Labour Government, Labour Mayor of London and Labour Council bosses - but none have stood up for local people.

In 2018, I used legal action to stop Sadiq Khan closing Wimbledon Police Station.
Now, Lib Dem colleagues on Richmond Council are doing the same to protect their last public-facing police station.
Itβs disappointing Mertonβs Labour Council wonβt do the same here.
