After the State of the Union Address, House Republicans immediately introduced a bill that would ban books at schools and libraries nationwide. The bans would, of course, target queer titles (and people).

Last month, eight books were removed from Georgia's statewide reading book for students. It was teenagers who brought this censorship to the spotlight–even though it's not their job to clean up grown-up messes.

Look into areas of interest even if you're not ready to make the change to see what requirements are necessary. Start working on those requirements so you are more prepared for the next step. In my case, I do not have a teaching degree so I needed to obtain an alternative license through the state.
I haven't posted on this app in nearly two years. A few things have changed. I am no longer the director of our local public library (by choice), and I am now the library media specialist at our local Career Tech high school. I love the new position, and I'm happy to be working with the students!
