Indie doesn’t have to mean incomplete. We can (and should) demand more from ourselves. Our books should feel intentional and thoughtful and worth every second. The work deserves it, and so do our readers.
Look, I know editors are expensive. I know covers cost money. I know not everyone has the same budget. But there's a difference between "I'm working with what I have" and "I didn't even check." This mindset causes readers to not trust indie books, and as an indie author, that scares me.
