It's true. I was lucky because Dad and I were very close and we both shared how we felt, but also yes, definitely, we connected through music (and also soccer, and travel, and writing!)
His tastes were pretty eclectic, but he leaned into Gothic rock, industrial rock, and synth pop a lot, plus some deep techno for his running. Naming names, Bauhaus, the Sisters of Mercy, New Order, Emigrate, John Digweed, Armin van Buuren...
