How to flexibly incorporate observations to tackle diverse assimilation tasks in a ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐๐ข๐๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐ฆ๐๐ฐ๐จ๐ซ๐ค? What are the advantages of compressing data for inference at this scale? And what are the limitations?
This release builds on our recently submitted ML4PS @ NeurIPS workshop paper, and already goes beyond the first arXiv version (April 2025, arxiv.org/abs/2504.18720).
Appa now uses a simpler architecture and still reaches strong performance with ~๐๐๐ร ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง!
